Tower House: A Sensory and Wellness Retreat

Alessandro Marchelli's Unique Design Blends Architecture, Light, and Design

Inspired by the enchanting game of joints and volumetric shapes, Alessandro Marchelli's Tower House is a sensory and wellness retreat that transforms everyday moments into extraordinary experiences. Located in the historic center of Nizza Monferrato, a city in Piedmont, Italy, this residential house showcases refined elegance and sophisticated design.

The strength of the Tower House lies in its ability to transport its inhabitants into a world of enchantment, where every moment becomes extraordinary. Alessandro Marchelli, the interior architect and creative director behind the project, describes it as a journey of intensity, spirituality, and harmony. Through meticulous attention to detail, the design team has created a space that evokes deep emotions and stimulates the senses.

The interior of the Tower House is a visual feast, with elements of impact strategically placed throughout the space. From the striking staircase and beams in the living area to the convex fireplace and spa area, each element is carefully designed to create a unique and immersive experience. The use of plaster and LED lighting, controlled by a home automation system, adds to the visual drama and allows for the creation of personalized scenarios.

Technological advancements play a significant role in the realization of the Tower House. Highly specialized masters in wrought iron and resin were employed to create the self-supporting staircase and the finishing touches on the steps, as well as the emotional shower and double bath with hydromassage and airpool. These elements combine to create a space that is both visually stunning and functionally advanced.

The Tower House spans two floors, with a total area of approximately 200 square meters. The second floor encompasses around 110 square meters, while the attic covers 90 square meters. The design team has seamlessly integrated the existing structure with the new housing unit, resulting in a cohesive and harmonious living space.

Throughout the design process, Alessandro Marchelli drew inspiration from historical notes and old books, combining them with studies of new materials and forms. The result is a design that respects the original features of the building while incorporating unconventional elements. The Tower House is a testament to Marchelli's design philosophy, which focuses on visionary and sensory experiences.

The Tower House is not just visually stunning; it is also a smart home. The entire house is designed and built with home automation, allowing for control of lighting, music, heating/cooling, home theater, and security systems. This integration of technology enhances the overall experience and functionality of the space.

The Tower House project began in September 2013 and was completed in August 2014. It has garnered recognition and accolades, including the Iron A' Design Award in 2015. This prestigious award is given to designs that meet professional and industrial requirements while showcasing innovation and practicality.

Alessandro Marchelli's Tower House is a testament to the power of design to create beauty and transform spaces. With its unique blend of architecture, light, and design, this sensory and wellness retreat offers a truly extraordinary living experience.
